Ring making with Silver clay class
Quantity = number of persons
It’s unbelievable but you can really make your own silver rings at home. In this fun and exciting class, you learn how to make your own silver ring with Silver Clay.
Silver clay is a clay like material, that consists of small silver particles, water and an organic binder.
When wet it can easily be formed, moulded, textured and cut.
When the water has evaporated, you can file and drill it and join more complex pieces.
Then you have to fire your piece at a temperature of at least 650°C to obtain real silver jewellery.
Following a short introduction about the challenges making a ring that fits we start calculating the make size for your ring. Let you inspire by some examples of rings and develop your own design.
Then we start bringing your idea to reality. Our experienced instructor will ensure you will work the correct way. After drying and some last filing we are going to fire your piece.
First you are going to make the ring band (the shank) and adding some texture.
Next you are making the ring plate (the head). Maybe you would like to add a little cubic zirkonia to it? No problem, we will show how to do.
After sanding and polishing we will use the pause to fire the rings.
At the end of the class, you may decide if you want to patinate the ring or not. You’re leaving the workshop with a lot of new skills and your first unique beautiful siver ring.
