Make a set of jewellery with sparkling cubic zirkonia - Learn how to set cz stones into silver clay

Add a touch of glamour to your beautiful bespoke silver jewellery.

Wether you want to create your everyday necklace or a sophisticated set of jewellery, create some attractive and exciting pieces by adding a nice gemstone. In this workshop you will create stunning pieces of jewellery with sparkling zirkonia set directly into silver clay.

What is Silver clay?

Silver clay is a clay like material, that consists of small silver particles, water and an organic binder. When wet it can easily be formed, moulded, textured and cut.

When the water has evaporated, you can file and drill it and join more complex pieces.

In the next step, you have to fire your piece at a temperature of at least 650°C to obtain real silver jewellery.

The Workshop

You will create your pendant in the first part of the class and we will fire it during lunch. In the afternoon you will make a pair of earrings with smaller lab-created stones.

Our experienced instructor will ensure you will work the correct way. After drying and some last filing we are going to fire your piece.

• Cutting, filing and polishing clay
• Making a great looking bail
• Adding patina to your pieces (optional)

Conditions

You must have some experience with silver clay e.g. the beginner class and/or some working experience.
