Manipulating the clay

FYI Silver Clay 999 feels and looks exactly like Art Clay Silver 999.

It comes nice and fresh of the packaging. The clay is very smooth and simple to use.

When you are used working with Art Clay Silver 999, you have no need to change your way to work.

You can make any 3d spapes with this clay without problems. In regular working speed you should have no problems with cracks or drying out too quickly.

Sanding and filing is easy, just like you do with Art Clay Silver clay.

Texturizing

The clay accepts really very fine and delicate structures from texture plates or stamps.

The clay isn't sticky at all. But as always use some olive oil on the surfaces it touches before handling.

Working time

FYI silver clay 999 has a good working time. It is comparable to Art Clay Silver 999. The moisture of the clay is excellent.

Synthetic stones with FYI Silver Clay 999

We had no problems setting and firing synthetic stones in the clay.

Combine FYI Silver Clay 999 with Art Clay Silver 999

We managed to combine FYI silver clay 999 with Art Clay Silver 999 on one piece.

You have to take care because both clays have different shrinkage. The surface where both clays meet should be rather small.

The earrings on the photo below are made with both clays: the starfish is made of FYI, the rest of Art Clay.

Our conclusion: the new FYI Silver Clay 999 is an excellent fine silver clay.

It is smooth and simple to use, keeps moisture for a long time and the details of structures come out very well.

When you're used working with Art Clay Silver 999 you don't have to change your way to work.
